Verdigris Youth Soccer Disciplinary Actions

For Players: If for any reason the Code of Conduct is not followed by the player, any (one or more) of the following steps may be taken by the Team Coach or the Club: 

  • Minor Infractions (e.g., occasional tardiness, minor disrespect):

    • First Offense: Verbal warning from the coach.

    • Second Offense: Additional conditioning or extra practice tasks.

    • Third Offense: Temporary suspension from a portion of the practice or game.

  • Moderate Infractions (e.g., repeated disrespect, unsportsmanlike behavior):

    • First Offense: Written warning and a meeting with the player, parents, and coach.

    • Second Offense: One-game suspension.

    • Third Offense: Multi-game suspension and a review meeting with the coach and league officials.

  • Severe Infractions (e.g., fighting, blatant disregard for rules, harmful behavior):

    • First Offense: Immediate suspension from all team activities pending a review.

    • Second Offense: Expulsion from the team for the remainder of the season.

For Coaches: If for any reason the Code of Conduct is not followed, any (one or more) of the following steps may be taken by the Club: 

  • Minor Infractions (e.g., occasional lateness, minor miscommunications):

    • First Offense: Verbal warning from league officials.

    • Second Offense: Written warning and meeting with league officials.

    • Third Offense: Suspension for one game.

  • Moderate Infractions (e.g., repeated unfair treatment, disrespectful behavior):

    • First Offense: Written warning and a mandatory meeting with league officials and parents.

    • Second Offense: Multi-game suspension and required training on coaching ethics.

    • Third Offense: Suspension for the remainder of the season and a review for future coaching eligibility.

  • Severe Infractions (e.g., abusive behavior, severe misconduct):

    • First Offense: Immediate suspension from all coaching duties pending investigation.

    • Second Offense: Permanent removal from coaching within the league.

For Parents:

  • I recognize that the Team Coach will handle infractions that occur at times other than during the game. 

  • I recognize that infractions that occur during the game are governed by the Laws of the Game and will be decided by the Match Official. The result may be a caution (yellow card) or dismissal (red card), in which case there may be further action, including suspensions or fines, by the league. 

  • I recognize that certain serious infractions will result in a discipline hearing convened by Oklahoma Soccer Association or Green Country or their delegate, and could lead to a suspension from soccer. 

  • Minor Infractions (e.g., occasional negative comments, minor disruptions):

    • First Offense: Verbal warning from the coach or league official.

    • Second Offense: Written warning and a meeting with the coach and league officials.

    • Third Offense: Required to observe games from a designated area away from the field.

  • Moderate Infractions (e.g., repeated disruptive behavior, disrespect towards officials or coaches):

    • First Offense: Written warning and meeting with league officials.

    • Second Offense: Banned from attending practices and games for a set period.

    • Third Offense: Banned from attending practices and games for the remainder of the season.

  • Severe Infractions (e.g., aggressive or abusive behavior, physical altercations):

    • First Offense: Immediate ban from all league activities pending investigation.

    • Second Offense: Permanent ban from attending any league events or activities.

 

These disciplinary actions are designed to ensure that all participants in Verdigris Youth Soccer adhere to the code of conduct, promoting a positive and respectful environment for everyone involved.
